Over the past week I’ve sat down and thought about what really peaked my interests and what I have some experience within. As I grew up in the country (Young) and by the water (Callala Bay) my surroundings and nature itself has had a large influence in my life and my personal interests, therefore I want to construct a digital artifact which connects with nature and the environment around us but also incorporates my personal interest and experiences. Throughout my schooling life I was always interested in designing and drawing, creating websites, taking photos and basically anything that sparked my creative side.
After sitting down and taking all my main interests, hobbies and experiences into consideration, I came up with the idea of a website which shows support for wildlife and ocean conservation. Throughout this website I plan to curate a form of business in which I could sell goods that give back toward nature and the environment as that is something I’m very passionate about. For the actual content of the website I plan to design and create products which can be bought via the website with designs that I have curated myself, that display a range of things related to wildlife and ocean preservation along with a range of minimalist designs or abstract pieces to offer a range of material for everyone.
Throughout this process I intend to create a range of shirts and caps/hats which can be purchased with a range of designs produced by myself. I also intend to create a range of prints and stickers which can be purchased and adjusted to suit skate decks, surf boards and much more.
Hi there! For anyone wondering, this is my Digital Artifact pitch for my first year subject BCM 112. For my Digital Artifact I have chosen to create something I have experience with, being a website, as I curated my own photography and video editing website as part of my major project in my senior years of high school. Within this website I intend to showcase a range of items with different designs that I have created and developed for the purpose of being displayed and purchased via my website, which I intend to connect to a rang of foundations where a percentage of all sales will be donated to help specific causes to do with wildlife preservation and conservation.
